Digital methods have revolutionized work in many areas of the humanities over recent decades, and the study of pre-modern China is no exception. Not only do specialist databases and other tools make available in an instant research materials that once might have taken weeks or months to locate, the internet opens up the possibility of immediately accessing such resources at a moment’s notice from virtually anywhere in the world.

Researchers continue to push forward the boundaries of what is possible in the digital medium, and open access initiatives day by day broaden the availability of scholarly resources to those both inside and outside the realm of traditional academia.

This wiki aims to promote the application of digital methods to the field of sinology and publicize the research results of those using these methods.
