BiogRef is distributed system for publishing and exchanging interoperable machine-readable lists of person names together with identifiers in historical biographical databases such as the China Biographical Database, Buddhist Studies Authority Database, and Academia Sinica Name Authority Database. The system uses the same approach and underlying reference implementation as TextRef, allowing the automatic merging of data published and maintained independently by each project, while also making this data available to others in a standard format.
